DYA Volunteers Support Second Story During National Volunteer Week
DYA employees supported Second Story through hands-on service and care-kit donations during National Volunteer Week.
VIENNA, VA – JUNE 2, 2025: Digney York Associates (DYA) hosted a volunteer event as part of National Volunteer Week, bringing employees together for a meaningful cause. Team members partnered with Second Story, a nonprofit that supports youth and young families experiencing crisis and homelessness.
Volunteers were divided into two groups for the day’s efforts. Eight team members assisted with yard work and spring cleaning across three Second Story homes, helping improve the environment for residents and staff. The second group, comprised of five volunteers, assembled and delivered 35 infant care kits. Each kit included essential items such as baby bottles, thermometers, baby lotion, shampoo, baby wash, formula, and more, directly supporting young mothers and their children in Second Story’s programs.
Dianne Jones, Senior Project Accountant and AR Manager at DYA, led and organized the initiative. A longtime supporter of Second Story, Dianne has previously volunteered with the organization and coordinated the company’s involvement.
“Our company is passionate about giving back to the community and regularly participates in volunteer initiatives whenever possible,” Dianne said.
Second Story was founded in 1972 as Alternative House and provides housing, counseling, and life skills support for teenagers experiencing crisis and young people experiencing homelessness, including pregnant and parenting young women and their children.
