Digney York Associates was founded by Jay Weiss and a financial partner in 1985. Within a couple of years
after the launch of the company Mr. Weiss acquired controlling interest of the business and embarked upon
building a highly regarded company that specialized in the ever growing need to effectively and painlessly
renovate hotel guest rooms.
In the mid-80’s the scope of work for a hotel or resort room renovation was often very “ cosmetic” and
centered around the replacement of carpet, wall vinyl and various FF&E items. In the early years of the
business Digney York focused their efforts and resources on aligning to these more simple needs of the industry
while building an outstanding reputation for being innovative with project schedules and deploying the use
of “hospitality niche” subcontractors who helped exceed client expectations by completing projects on budget
and ahead of schedule.
In the 90’s the look and feel of guest rooms began to evolve due to significant changes in material,
international logistics and technology. At this time many new brands and concepts were launched in the
Hospitality industry sparking a new level of hotelier competition. As the industry evolved, demand for the
more modern and functional guest room increased significantly. Subsequently, the scope of work for a hotel
renovation or conversion of a highly desirable property to a hotel expanded as well. As the industry changed
during this decade, Digney York Associates was on the leading edge of the transformation. Digney York
expanded their services geographically and further developed their expertise and sub contractor base in order
to meet the changing demand while enabling hotel owners to benefit from improved RevPar and an overall
increase in property value.
Today Digney York Associates is one of the most experienced and capable General Contractors serving the
Hospitality industry. Digney York is a financially stable organization, which employs a experienced and
versatile team that provides coast to coast interior renovation services for hotels and resorts. |
